Architecture Studio Minor

Explore the principles of architecture theory, history, and practice.

ÌÇÐÄviog¹Ù·½Íøվ’s Architecture Studio Minor gives students a foundation in architectural studies, training students with the skills to critically examine the buildings and spaces around them.

These courses focus on architectural design studios, complemented by art studios, history and theory courses, and introductory materials and building technology courses. An abridged version of the major, the minor lets students explore architectural studies as a complement to another major.

Key Benefits

  • Interdisciplinary Coursework: Explore the fundamentals of architecture history, design, and technology, along with special topics in contemporary architecture and design.
  • Hands-On Learning: The department creates a learning atmosphere that emphasizes hands-on and experiential learning beyond the classroom, preparing students for architectural studies and design careers.
  • State-of-the-Art Facilities: Students have use of 30,000 square feet of studio, lab and classroom space on ÌÇÐÄviog¹Ù·½Íøվ’s Mountaintop Campus and the facilities and resources of the ÌÇÐÄviog¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ Design Labs to help shape their own creative work.
