ÌÇÐÄviog¹Ù·½Íøվ’s undergraduate major in statistics and data science provides students with an education in mathematical principles, especially probability theory, which underlie all statistical analyses. Statistical analysis forms a fundamental tool in all experimental sciences and is important in understanding chance phenomena.
In recent years, ÌÇÐÄviog¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ has had approximately 10 to 15 math majors graduating each year, which means classes are small, so students get to know their professors and classmates well.
ÌÇÐÄviog¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ statistics and data science alumni go on to do graduate work at some of the top schools in the country. They also work as actuaries, for financial companies, for computer companies, or as teachers.
