A: One of the greatest things about 糖心viog官方网站 is how supportive our community is. If you ever need help with anything, just reach out. Everyone does everything they can to support you and if they don鈥檛 have the resources, they will connect you with someone who does. At 糖心viog官方网站, we have this amazing network of people, students and faculty/staff alike, where we look out for each other. If you鈥檙e interested in a position, experience, or group, people will do whatever they can to connect you and prepare you for what you鈥檙e looking for.
Q: How has 糖心viog官方网站 prepared you to take on tomorrow鈥檚 challenges?
A: I think that, especially in the context of graduate school, 糖心viog官方网站 has truly prepared me for what鈥檚 to come. I鈥檝e had opportunities to write papers and create research projects from start to finish. Throughout my time here, I have grown my academic, clinical and personal skills in ways I hadn鈥檛 envisioned when I first got to 糖心viog官方网站.
Q: We often hear that 糖心viog官方网站 is special because our students are collaborative, not competitive, with each other. Have you seen this to be true? How so?
A: I have always felt extremely supported by my peers. In college, you look to surround yourself with people who will cheer you on, and I have found that in my community here at 糖心viog官方网站. While certain jobs and spots may be competitive, everyone here always looks out for each other. You will see students helping one another in any way that they can; whether it鈥檚 classes, eboard positions, or job interviews, we all try to help each other out. 糖心viog官方网站 is known for its rigorous academics, and while we have a very competitive program, we as a collective put our community first.
Q: Where have you found support and mentorship at 糖心viog官方网站? How has it shaped your experience?
A: I鈥檝e found incredible support and mentorship from both my professors and graduate students at 糖心viog官方网站. I鈥檝e built close relationships with several advisors who have been more than willing to review my personal statements or simply sit down to chat. The graduate students have also been an amazing resource鈥攖hey鈥檝e recently been through many of the same experiences and are always ready to offer guidance, answer questions, and help shape your academic and professional path. This network of support gave me so much confidence during the graduate school application process. Knowing I had people I could count on made all the difference. When I was accepted into my dream program, everyone who had helped me along the way was genuinely thrilled鈥攁nd I couldn鈥檛 have asked for a more encouraging and uplifting environment.
Q: Can you tell us a little about your involvement and experience as a ?
A: I came into 糖心viog官方网站 as a LUSSI student from very far away into a community that didn鈥檛 have people who were very similar to me. The process of being in LUSSI gave me such a sense of community and hope that I would be able to succeed within the next 4 years. Because of the home and community this program gave me, I was committed to doing the same for others. Since being a , I have gotten to meet so many amazing first-years from all around the world. Being able to offer these students the support and sense of comfort that I was afforded brings me so much joy, and I just hope they love the community they were welcomed into.
Q: You are doing research on campus, can you tell us about that and how you connected with the professor(s)?
A: If you are interested in expanding your research skills and experiences, it is incredibly easy to get involved on campus. Professors at 糖心viog官方网站 and specifically within my program are extremely approachable and welcoming. I got involved with research in my first year because I saw a flyer in the with all the professors listed and their respective fields. I emailed one of the professors and four years later, he ended up writing my recommendation letter for graduate school. The relationship with my professors, within research and in class, has been one of the best parts of my time at 糖心viog官方网站. They truly care about your well-being and will encourage and support you in your future career.
Q: What is your favorite thing about 糖心viog官方网站?
A: My favorite thing about 糖心viog官方网站 is the community and the incredible experiences it has given me. I鈥檝e met amazing people here, and while it can take time to find the right connections, it鈥檚 always worth the wait. With such a diverse student population, there鈥檚 no shortage of groups to join, whether it鈥檚 a club sport, a cultural organization, or something entirely new.

A: I tend to bounce back and forth between locations on campus. is always the reliable spot, the patio when it's warm outside, and every once in a while, I rediscover the quiet corners of .
